Micro Analysis Sound

The toilet flush when Susan comes out of the toilet. The audience know that this means she has just been for a "fag" then this is linked for when she brings out a packet of Polo's.
The background noise in the staff room shows that they are not in the best place to have a personal conversation.
The non-dietetic sound of the police station. Shows that he is extremely guilty.
The sound of the bell just after Simon is paniced by what he has just heard
The radio is a non dietetic sound when they mention 6 people have been arrested on a drugs raid.
The fact of the police car going through the street is ironic as Simon is preparing himself for an interveiw with the police at school that day.
The music in the background at parents evening adds to the humor.

Macro Analysis Dialogue

The broad and blunt talk about sex.
The fact that they keep swearing and in schools they teach students not to swear at school.
The fat James Corden is the only one who says " i really enjoyed that!" and he asks him if he is sarcastic this shows representation of the class.
The talk is always Gossip or conversation.
It is Scripted.
The way they speak and the words chosen shows that it fits in with the genre that this is a comedy.
Also the comparison between Jenny and Simons speech shows the lazy teacher that Simon is and how straight and on the Job also opposite to Simon.
Fills in the gaps in the plot Eg. The way Susan says at the beginning is saying how she is going to go for the head of years job when they all laugh and her and tell her that its the worst mistake she will ever make. Then Simon goes and says that he is going to go for the job so he is therefore being a hippo crate.
Simon sounds like one of the kids when he is asked a question when he reply saying "whaaaaaat?!"

Representation in the Media

By definition, all media texts are re-presentations of reality. This means that they are intentionally composed, lit, written, framed, cropped, captioned, branded, targeted and censored by their producers, and that they are entirely artificial versions of the reality we perceive around us.
Gender
the basic category we use for sorting human beings, and it is a key issue when discussing representation. Essential elements of our own identity, and the identities we assume other people to have, come from concepts of gender - what does it mean to be a boy or a girl? Many objects, not just humans, are represented by the media as being particularly masculine or feminine - particularly in advertising - and we grow up with an awareness of what constitutes 'appropriate' characteristics.
Race
Race, ethnicity and colour, like sex, comprise sets of genetically defined, biological characteristics. However, as with gender, there are also cultural elements in those defining characteristics.
Age
After gender and ethnicity, age is the most obvious category under which we file people, and there are a whole range of judgements which go along with our categorisation. We quickly deem other people too old, or too young, or criticise them for being immature or fuddy duddy. We criticise mature women for going about as mutton dressed as lamb, and young girls for tarting themselves up as jail bait. Film stars who start to show signs of aging in their forties are swooped on with cries of horror by gossip columnists.
Disabilites
Semantically, the word "disabled" causes much debate. The 'dis' suffix is a negative one, implying reversal, and disabled heads a list in the dictionary of many negative words - disappoint, discard, disconsolate, discourage, disintegrate, dismay, disrepute etc etc. That same dictionary defines the word "disabled" as meaning "Made ineffective, unfit or incapable". Quite rightly, those members of the population who find themselves labelled thus feel tarred with a distasteful brush. The word implies that they are unfit for anything, that they are incapable of effectiveness in any field.

Skins analasis Mis-en-scene

What diffrent settings are used in the sequence? It is an interior setting is in a house not a person at the partys house as it is getting trashed. The place shows you that the programme is about sex drugs and non stop parting they seem not to care as half of them are high on drugs.
What objects props, images or symbols do you notice in eachh location and what assoications or ideas do they suggest? There are many drugs shown in the scene there is also a person dressed up as a bear. This is very random and doesnt have any significance this shows us that anything can happen in this series.

The Imbetweeners - Wills Dilema (First 8 minutes)

Shots
What is the shot showing?
Connotations ( your response)
Denotations what the shot suggests
Establishing shot
Jays caravan
You wonder why a caravan is just parked in on the street.
This shows that it’s not a very nice place to be as the caravan looks run down and dirty and this makes us think that it is not belonging to anyone wealthy.
Close up
Of Neil’s face showing how engaged he is in Jays lies
You wonder how Neil can be so stupid the shot is face on so this is focusing on his emotion in his face. You also feel sorry for Neil being so gullible.
That Neil is so intrigued by Jays lies. The close up shows his face and how gullible Neil is.
Mid shot
Of all the boys sat around the table
This is just giving you the response that it is a friendly atmosphere
That they are all good friends who are combatable in each other’s company and that no one is of more importance of the others as they are all sat around the table at equal heights.
High angle eye shot
From Jays dad’s eye view
The boys have just been talking about how great they are and then this shot puts them to shame
Showing that Jay’s dad is of more importance because of his age and experiences to life.
Zoomed mid shot and establishing shot
Of the school sign while the students attend the school
That they have now cut scenes to where they are now at school and it looks like a high quality working school.
That it is a busy school and that they just mingle in with everyone else and they want to stand out but they cannot
Cutting between two close up shots
Between Simon and Tara while Simon gets into panic when she starts asking him questions
That Simon is in panic and does not know what to say so you feel sorry for him and you don’t want him to embarrass himself
That the conversation is faster than it actually is and creates suspension and panic for the audience.
Mid shot
Between Will and his mum showing their mother and son relationship
That you see that will is embarrist by his mum hugging him in front of his friends and you feel sorry for him.
That they have a strong relationship because she is reassuring him not to do drugs
Over the shoulder shot
Of Will looking at the other boys
That will thinks he is better than the other three boys and that he is being brought down by ‘hanging out’ with them.
Showing wills point of view, on how retarded his friends are.

Coronation Steet

In the 1961 operning titles the steet is shown as a dull boring not  perticualtry weathy place to live in Manchester. The camera shots are from the same angle so this is showing that not much ever changes in the street. The black and white picture scenes show that it looks quite boring and if we was to look at it now a days we would think it wasnt a plesent place to live. It also has no people in the scenes so it doesnt seem a very friendly place or family abinding.

In the 2010 title scenes shows a huge contrast since the first ones in 1961. the first still image shows a taxi in Manchester. This shows that it is a upcoming city, and it is quite wealthy to love there. It goes onto show a couple walking down the road with a bunch of flowers in the shot. This gives us the idea that it is a very plesent place to live and it is also very family orientated. The rovers return is shown in this, this is the main point of the steet.

Introduction

My initial research involved investigating the types of local station.
Obviously, the major differences is between Independent (ILR) and public funded BBC stations. ILR stations rely on local business for advertising funding.
